The Great Wall of China
The Great Wall of China was originally called The 10,000 Li Long Wall. (One li is three tenths of a mile). The Great Wall of China was made out of pounded earth with wooden frames. The wall took ten year to build. It took over 300,000 men to build the wall. Soldiers who were taken out of the army and peasants were most of the people who worked on the wall. The wall went through mountains, swamps, and deserts. When men died on the wall they were buried under the wall.
